My little sister and I had no parents to take care of us or discipline us, so we started to skip school and run away from home. We lived outside like this, sometimes having food to eat and sometimes not. Therefore, we made some bad friends. We started to learn how to steal, smoke, drink…and do other bad things. We became like adults before our time and became problem students and bad kids.
We gradually became addicted to all these bad things. Then, a social worker from Nantou county discovered me and my little sister, and as soon as she understood our situation, she took us to the aborigine children's home located in Liu Kwei district.
When we arrived at Christian Mountain Children's Home, there were a lot of things we weren't used to, especially the daily routines; we had already gotten used to not having anyone to take care of us or discipline us. We had been very free. When we entered this family, there was concern, care, discipline and there was no way we could live like before.
So I ran away with my sister, but not for long. They caught us and brought us back to the orphanage, but I soon did it again. And again, it was not long before they caught me and brought me back. But the second time I came back, I realized that everyone had been praying for us. Yang Ma Ma had been crying for us and praying. This moved me very much because I felt something I had never felt before, family love. This made me want to become stable and to settle down.
The biggest change came after I joined the choir. In every song, I recognized God's love. I always think that if it were not for God's love, I and my sister would still be living outside alone, living a frighteningly poor and pitiful life. It would have been impossible to join this warm family. I always call my father and pass on God's message. Even though he is drunk sometimes, I still tell him he needs to believe in Jesus because he loves us.
One song always moves me, "Those Invisible Hands." It says, "It's your hands, your nail-scarred hands, that refresh and comfort my broken heart. Thank you Jesus."
Even though we come from different places, backgrounds and difficulties, I deeply believe that we are the most fortunate and happy group because we are God's children, and we can use our voices to praise the Lord together.
Psalm 23 verse 4 says, "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me." For these reasons, I believe God loves me and everyone.
This is my testimony. I share it with you to encourage you. May God bless you all. Thank you.
